- 5–7+ years of professional mechanical engineering design experience, ideally with data centers or other mission-critical projects.
- Valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or very highly experienced designer.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM, load analysis software, and MS Office tools.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and mechanical codes.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proven experience leading design efforts for data centers, green building, or energy efficiency projects.
Requirements
- Design and document mechanical and plumbing systems (HVAC, piping, ductwork, and equipment placement) using Revit and other engineering tools.
- Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system performance analysis to ensure efficient and accurate designs.
- Oversee and review drawings, specifications, and submittals throughout design and construction phases.
- Select and schedule mechanical equipment and systems while considering cost-effectiveness, energy efficiency, and sustainability goals.
- Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration within BIM models.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff and support professional growth within the team.
- Review RFIs, change orders, and record drawings; participate in site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and national building codes, energy codes, and industry standards.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical design and sustainability.
