Position DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION:
Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation's largest municipally owned utilities in terms of the number of customers served. Over the years we have worked very hard to keep Seattle's electricity affordable, reliable, and environmentally sound. Today, City Light is a recognized national leader in energy efficiency and environmental stewardship.
Environment, Land & Licensing is seeking an Administrative Specialist II to support the business unit. The business unit is made up of Environmental Management & Compliance, Skagit Licensing, Science Policy, Natural Resources and Permitting, Boundary Licensing, and Real Estate Services organizational units. The work includes supporting management and personnel with administrative support, travel and training arrangements, and special projects. The work of this class requires advanced knowledge of general office practices and procedures and requires comprehensive knowledge of departmental or program policy/procedures. The work requires solving problems and making reliable decisions.
This position reports to the Director of Environmental Management & Real Estate.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to employees and management, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist and coordinate purchasing and payments.
- Prepare and process travel and training documents.
- Manage office lists and documents.
- Gather and compile information or data.
- Track and route various documents for signature.
- Capture meeting minutes and attendance sheets.
- Order supplies.
- Manage and track the use of credit cards.
- Device management support.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Requires two years of clerical support experience (or a combination of education, training and/or experience which provides evidence of the ability to perform work of the class).
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Work is performed in an office environment.
License, Certification and Other Requirements
You
must hold a current valid state issued driver's license from any US state to be
verified prior to start date. Out of state license holders will be required to
obtain a WA state license within 30 days of hire.

- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to identify process improvements.
- Comfort with changing technology with a high degree of adaptability.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of records management within a city environment.

Additional Information
The full salary range for this position is $35.61 to $39.87 per hour.
